Surgery for Oral Cancers

There is a high prevalence of Oral cancers in India to large number of people consuming different forms of tobacco.
Surgery for these cancers encompasses the surgical excision of the affected portion of the oral cavity, surgery of the neck for lymphatic spread and reconstruction of the defect caused.

Surgery for Laryngeal Cancers

As with high incidence of oral cancers from chewable tobacco, smoking of cigarette and biddis is a major issue which have given rise to high numbers of Laryngeal / throat cancers consistently over past years.
With the advent of Radiotherapy, organ preservation has been helped reducing number of surgical procedures on the larynx. Still, in cases of advanced cancers and in cases of residual or recurrence after radiotherapy, Surgery remains the Best option.

Salivary glands both major (Parotid, Sub-Mandibular, Sub-Lingual) and Minor (under the lining of the various parts of the oral cavity) can get affected by infections and benign as well as malignant tumours.
Surgeries on the glands depends on the type of disease, including Simple removal of stones in salivary gland ducts to surgical removal of part or complete glands.

Thyroid is a normal body tissue which release certain hormones which are essential for optimal functioning of the body.
Diseases of the thyroid can lead to Excessive (Hyperthyroid) or Insufficient (Hypothyroid) production of thyroid hormone. Both Hypothyroid and hyperthyroid
conditions can cause enlargement of the gland affecting breathing and swallowing function and the deteriorating cosmetic appearance.
The thyroid, as any other part of the body can get affected by tumours.
Thyroidectomy is the surgical procedure of removing part or whole of the thyroid gland.
